I trained as a physicist, with my doctoral thesis on the crystal growth of semiconductors and continued my early research in the design, growth and processing semiconductor devices, lasers and quantum well heterostructures at LG Electronics and TIFR Mumbai.

I began investigation in interfacial and surface science through SSHG Spectroscopy at Riken, Japan, which I continued through the engagement with Colloids and Interfacial Science at Unilever. Further, through various roles and projects, I also built expertise in electrodynamics, electrochemistry and device engineering.

Currently, my research interests are in the area of product design & engineering, materials science and environmental science, focusing on applications in water treatment and sustainable plastic use.
